Women Development & Service
Beginning
Rev. Dr. Khushnud Azariah, in her unique role as the wife of a Bishop within the Diocese of Raiwind, Church of Pakistan engaged deeply with the women of the rural area of the Diocese, listening attentively to their stories and struggles. Her interactions revealed socio-economic and cultural challenges facing women. Moved by their resilience, Khushnud Azariah leveraged her theological insight and compassionate leadership to initiate the Women Development & Service Program. This program was designed as a beacon of hope, aiming to uplift women by providing them with educational opportunities, vocational training, and a platform to voice their issues.
In year 1989, Women Development and Service Program (WDSP) was started by Rev. Dr. Khushnud. Her vision for work with women is aimed at building a just community which is free from all sort of discrimination and exploitation.
WDSP is working for the uplift of the status of women in Pakistan. Through difference projects WDSP is raising issues, promoting awareness, encouraging participation and sharing skills for a better Pakistan. “Service to others” is the motto of WDSP the center of Christian faith, the mark of committment to Christ who came to Serve the poor and the oppressed irrespective of gender.
