“Talitha kumi” is an Aramaic phrase that appears in the Bible, specifically in Mark 5:41. Jesus encounters Jairus, a synagogue leader, whose daughter is very ill and on the verge of death. Jesus goes to Jairus’ house, but by the time they arrive, the girl has died. Despite the news, Jesus enters the room where the girl’s body lies and takes her hand, saying “Talitha kumi.” Miraculously, the girl comes back to life.
